One of the Amazing Architectures of Delhi
Lotus Temple, Delhi One of the seven Baha'i Houses resides in Delhi. Dedicated in December 1986 , famous for its architecture; Lotus like shape, it has become an attraction for the Tourists from all over the World. The Canadian architect Fariborz Sahba had created a Marvelous piece of Art. This temple is known to cost around $10 million . The structural system is made up of concrete frame and concrete ribbed roof, structural engineers being Flint & Neill , it was completed by November 13th 1986 , the structure of 27 petals made of marbles standing free, constructed in a bunch of t hree petals creating nine sides . The nine doors open to a central hall which has the capacity to hold 2,500 people at a time, no external lights are required to light up the hall as the light enters through the inner folds of the Lotus and lits the whole hall.
